Allocating and Attaching a Floating IP

Allocating an IP:

Inside the Networking > Floating IPs menu, click on the Allocate plus button to open the creation wizard.

This wizard allocates a private IP from the edge’s network.

Note that these addresses are limited, and is it not recommended to have a Floating IP attached to every instance.

Select the edge network to allocate an IP from and click Ok.

The newly allocated IP will be displayed in the list in the main menu, and this list displays the private IP and the name of the attached VM.
Attaching an IP to an instance:

Navigate to the Instances menu under Compute.

Click into an instance to open its properties menu.

Clicking on the attach button in the floating-ip tab in the near center of the page, will open an attach wizard.

Select the private IP this Floating IP will attach to in from the Private IP dropdown menu.

Select the recently allocated Floating IP.

Clicking Okay will attach the IP, and the Networks details will refresh shortly.
