Add A Records

Video Guide

Document Guide

Adding a record can be done in the instance creation wizard, or, in the ‘advanced details view’ of the hosted zone. Note, that this has no effect on the local hostname of the instance.

Adding Records from DNS Menu

  • To add a record in the hosted zone, navigate to DNS under networking.

  • Click into the desired zone, and then click on the ‘Create’ button under DNS Records.

  • In the IP Address dropdown menu, select the IP of the instance to add.

  • Then, in the DNS Name text-field, enter a name for the instance that will be associated with the domain name to create a full qualified domain name for that IP.

  • Pressing Ok will add the record.

Instance Creation Wizard Hostname:

  • Adding the A record to the DNS from the instance creation wizard can be done on the ‘Networking’ step of the wizard.>

  • By selecting the network on the ‘Setup’ step, the domain associated with that network will be appended with the record when the DNS Name text-field is edited during the ‘Networking’ step.

  • Finishing creating the instance will add the DNS A record for the zone automatically.
