Snapshotting a Volume

Video Guide

Document Guide

Step 1:

  • A snapshot is a blueprint or reference to a volume, but it is not a volume, and is the main way Enseva Cloud Services handles data back ups.

  • Data Protection plans take periodic snapshots of volumes, incase they need to be restored at a later date.

  • Snapshots can be restored as a volume or as an image to spawn instances from.

  • Navigate to the Block Storage menu under Storage.

  • Search for, or find the volume to snapshot.

  • The snapshot button appears by clicking on the row, or clicking into the intended volume.

  • Click the snapshot button, name it and click Ok.

  • The snapshot will appear in the Snapshots menu.

Step 2:

  • A snapshot can also be created via the Snapshot menu’s create button.

  • Though finding the intended volume will be a little more difficult using the wizard’s dropdown menu.
